missing database from datname

All we need is an easy explanation of the problem, so here it is.

running select datname FROM pg_database gives me a partial list. I’m missing there the db aa.
How is that be? How can I sort it?

all=# \dt aa.*
                List of relations
 schema |   name     | type  | owner
 aa     | aamember   | table | dkuser
 aa     | aaspmember | table | dkuser
 aa     | aamaster   | table | dkuser
(3 rows)

all=# select datname FROM pg_database;
(5 rows)
