All we need is an easy explanation of the problem, so here it is.
My json is of the format ["a","b","c"]. I want to write a sql query such that
select *
from mytable
where a_column in json_extract["a","b","c"]
This logic does not work, because json_extract needs a path.
Is there any work around for this in mysql 8.0
How to solve :
I know you bored from this bug, So we are here to help you! Take a deep breath and look at the explanation of your problem. We have many solutions to this problem, But we recommend you to use the first method because it is tested & true method that will 100% work for you.
Method 1
SELECT *
FROM mytable
WHERE JSON_CONTAINS('["a","b","c"]', JSON_QUOTE(a_column));
I assume that the column a_column
is a string-type column which contains a value like 'a'
.
Note: Use and implement method 1 because this method fully tested our system.
Thank you 🙂
